The FASTCAT web-based application enables test content authors to create and manage bespoke online tests simply and securely. Whether used within online schools to test students or in business to filter job applicants it allows users to simply create and manage online tests, accessible 24/7 with no installation or hardware required. Authoring Questions Questions are created using an intuitive editor and can be made up of text, images and document attachments e.g. English Comprehension passages. We support the following question styles: multi- choice select one, multi-choice select many, typed answer, dropdown list. We also support a multi-part question style where the individual questions can be used independently as well as grouped together in one question - when grouped, an introductory paragraph acts as a rubric for all parts. Questions using such an introductory rubric tend to be typical of Examination Board Past Papers. Item banking All items, strands, test templates and tests are stored within an Enterprise Database. Test templates allow editing of a saved test or facilitate easy cloning and creation of a new version from the existing template. The application includes a comprehensive Item Banking system. Randomization There is an option to shuffle the answer choices for each examinee.Our random question engine configures a unique question set each time the exam is executed. Examinees will not be able to remember answers based on the position of the answer. An exam can be compiled to consist of a random set of questions automatically pulled at random from the available item pool. If that exam is subsequently re-generated then a different set of questions will be assigned. Question Difficulty Each question can be assigned a level of difficulty. There is an option to set the mix of questions any exam should contain according to question difficulty. Please note IRT-items have a precise calibrated difficulty - please refer to the FASTCAT IRT Engine Assign and Publish Tests Once registered, examinees can be assigned a test and issued a test invitation email. The email contains the Webexaminer exam centre URL, a unique login and password. A deadline for the test to be completed can be set. Test reminders can be sent to applicants in the form of an email when the due date to complete a test is approaching. Sitting Tests Examinees take the test on the web, securely and regardless of browser. Instantly a test is completed an automated email alerts the test administrator (optional). Secure SSL-Secured site, secure Login, student authentication and authorization. Automatic restart on broken connection. If any kind of server connection failure occurs the exam will be restarted from the point at which the connection was broken. Results and Reporting Once a test is completed results and analysis of examinee's performance is instantly available on the web, published to the test administrator's account.
